Classic Motorcycle Day returns to Crich Tramway Village

Sunday 7th July will see the return of another popular event to the Crich Tramway Village as Classic Motorcycle Day back once more. This is the seventh event that the event has run in partnership with the Vincent HRD Owners Club and with sponsorship from Derwent Waste Management.

There are already over 350 entries for classic motorcycles, made up of vintage machines to modern machines of the 1990s – all entries must be at least 25 years old.

As always there will be a number of categories they will be judged in, this includes Best Original, Best British, Best Japanese, Best Italian, Best International, Best Pre-war motorcycles and Best Scooter. The coveted Best in Show will again be voted for by the visiting public.

Jon Lambley, Vincent HRD Owners Club organiser, said: “Many of the classic motorcycle owners consider this event to be one of the most important in the year, and we hope that everyone will enjoy this year’s display and vote for their favourite machine.”

Candi Bell, Crich Tramway Village’s Events Manager, added: “We are looking forward to welcoming everyone for another great day for browsing the classic collection of motorcycles, taking vintage tram rides and enjoying live music in the afternoon from Midnight Shift.”

As always the event will also see trams running – allowing for some unique photographic opportunities of tram alongside motorcycles.
